The Wine Shop At Home

My favorite hangout spot to get together with my friends for girls' nights or lazy Sunday get togethers is a local wine shop about 2 blocks from my place called The Cellar Door. During the warmer months, their outdoor seating props customers up on high-tops overlooking Main Street. It's especially fun for people-watching while sipping on mimosas or their "surprise" red or white wines on the Friday evenings during the neighborhood car shows in the summer.  Alas, my friends and I still long for their assortments of noshes and booze, and during the winter months when we are trying to keep warm and save some extra cash it isn't always ideal to go out for our meet ups.  For this, I'm usually the designated snack provider for bringing the wine shop experience to the home while they provide the beverages. The entertainment, although still free, moves from people watching to Netflix binging. With an assortment of rosemary crackers, pickles and olives, soft and hard cheeses, and almonds drizzled in Italian seasoning and honey, the Cellar Door became my living room. The perks along with bottomless munchies and drinks = sweatpants and mani/pedi's. I cannot see a restaurant being welcome to girls in what we call "at-home-pants" and perfectly pampering shea butter foot mask socks  we picked up at Target, but we could be on to something here. It was a perfect pairing of cozy and nourishment - both in conversation and in snacks, and the company that lasts  longer here versus when we are out.
